I dont know if he tried the flush thing on the 2007 sx4. I was just stating I was having the same issue and did go to rapid oil change and get their transmission flush refill service. It worked for my 2009 toyota matrix. My 2008 sx4 also had that service at about 200,000 miles. The 2008 sx4 only had the 200,000 service - it is at 271,000 now.
